The following is the transcript of a session of communication between six human beings and a non-human intelligence. This communication was achieved via a process known as "channeling" i.e. telepathic communication with one member of the group acting as a channel or "instrument" while the others took turns questioning the entity.
Throughout the communication, the channel was receiving mental transference of emotions, concepts and imagery as the words were being relayed. This will be noted throughout in italicized script and lends to a fuller picture of this contact.
Because of the conversational type dialogue of this particular channeling, the questioners are identified by letters "A"through "D".
The below transcript begins after the channel makes contact with the entity. She challenges them three times to ensure the validity of the contact and to strengthen it. Once the entity meets her challenges, she then lies down and enters a deep state of channeling. Once an adequately deep state of channeling has been reached, the entity initiates communication.

Burning Ones Yes, we are here. We are the Burning Ones. We are very excited to be with you at this time. We have looked forward to this session for quite some time. We have been with you. We have been with you on your individual journeys since the last session. We have been watching and we have been observing. We have been helping and supporting where we felt that we were able to do so. We have been observing as you have been diving into that which you have called “shadow work”. We are most delighted that our suggestions were taken almost quite literally in the last session. We are very, very happy that such enthusiasm has resulted. We are extremely excited and we are adjusting our energies to this instrument.
How wonderful to meet with you again to join in this communication. We have been so delighted at all that has taken place since our last meeting. The many epiphanies and realizations which have come forth in the many different ways as you dive into the darker realms of your being. When you bring the light to these spaces and you see what is revealed, it is not just the monsters which lurk in the dark. It is the treasures which are also found in these darker corners which have been lost. It is... we find difficulty in determining the correct word for to describe our feeling, our reaction in this discovery. You are discovering yourself more fully and it brings us much joy.
For you are a part of ourselves, we are you, and you are us, and you are finding yourself. And it is felt by us. Even the desire, even to have the desire to look into these darker portions of the self. Just even the desire is most illuminating. That is all that is needed. This faculty of will, this intention, this setting of intention, a true intention to do this work. That is all that is needed.
We wish to have a dialogue with you as we have previously described. In this, we would like to ask you questions of our own. We would like to offer prompts and such. We understand that you have questions for us at this time. We feel that there is much more openness in this circle as compared to the previous session, and thus we may explore more fully that which we desire to bring here to this table.
Questioner A Would now be an appropriate time to ask questions?
Burning Ones Yes. You may present a question to us.
2.1 Questioner A Can you clarify what exactly you mean by the shadow self? Individually and or collectively?
Burning Ones What do you suppose is the shadow self? What comes to your mind? What does it mean when you hear this term, when we said this, what does this mean to you?
Questioner B For myself, it means the negative mind. The negative chatter that comes into the mind at varying points in the day that lead one to go away from my heart. That's how I look at shadow side.
Questioner C I see shadow as the part of us that we don't really want to own, but is there.
Questioner A For me, it would be the parts of yourself that you don't see in yourself, but you project onto others.
Questioner D For me, when I see my shadow self in others I become triggered and my behavior becomes negative because I haven't acknowledged these traits that I have seen in others. I don't realize that they're in me also.
2.2 Burning Ones So in each of these replies, we have noticed a theme in the term “the shadow self”. You are coming upon the concept of a part of yourself which you cannot see. A part of yourself which is blinded from your conscious mind. From that which you can perceive at any given time. Let us explore this particular note further. That which you cannot see, that which you cannot perceive, yet it is a part of you.
Could you imagine if you could not see your hand, but you felt the pain when it was injured? A body part you didn't even know that you had. Because you cannot see it, but you can feel it, can you heal? Can you heal what you cannot see? Can you seek to deduce what injury has taken place?
We find that you cannot, and so it hurts and it confuses and it causes distress. Where is this pain coming from? Why can't I get rid of it? What is wrong with me? Can others see this? Can others see something that I can't? A paranoia begins to set in. Why can't you see? Why can't you see this part? Do you know?
Questioner B I would guess that we are ashamed, or we don't want to see it and we hide it. We want to make it invisible.
Burning Ones How does one make a part of oneself invisible?
Questioner C By ignoring it. By not looking at it.
2.3 Burning Ones Yes. Yes. By not looking at it. By not seeing. You have many eyes which to see. The eyes are closed. When the eyes remain closed, it's dark. The eyes that have been closed for so long, they hurt. They hurt in the light and the light comes and the eyes begin to open.
The light hurts. Things are blurry and distorted. It's painful. And yet a silhouette can be glimpsed. A vague shape. An outline. You see something there, but it hurts and it's painful. It's easier to close the eyes. Forget about what you saw.
We use this metaphor to represent this process which we are describing. The reason we wish to explore is.. Why are the eyes shut to begin with? Who shut those eyes? Why have they closed? Why do they refuse to look? Who shut the eyes?
Questioner B I'm not sure that I can say who shut the eyes. But I think it has to do with our disconnect from the Creator. Somehow our shadow is a reflection of our disconnect from Creator, from light, from eternal life. Maybe we have been taught or have learned, or somehow, we've accepted that we are not worthy of that.
Burning Ones We leave space for any to answer. Who shut the eyes? We appreciate your response. There is much there.
Questioner A I think maybe those of the negative polarity are able to shut the collective eyes of everybody, because there is a calling for such. Because people feel it's too difficult to see the shadow.
Questioner C Honestly, I guess I think each of us kind of shuts our own eyes.
2.4 Burning Ones Can each of you remember when you shut your eyes? When did this happen? What was the first moment? The first moment you no longer wanted to see that portion of yourself.
Questioner D As a child? When I first felt shame.
Questioner B For me, it was as a child when someone in authority was telling me I was not behaving well. My parents or my teachers or someone. And I was made to feel I shouldn't act in that way. But the funny thing is, after that I did, because I learned quickly. I'm a quick learner. I only have to be told once I'm a bad boy. And then I buried that part of myself, and I think I made it my shadow self after that.
Questioner A I think when, when I was a young teenager, I looked at the world and I did not like what I saw. Nothing was as I wanted it to be or how I thought it should be. That's when I can last remember or first remember shutting my eyes.
Questioner D I think for me is starting school and going to a place that I wasn't sure was safe and that continues. Just the mere leaving home. Powerful words, leaving home. Leaving the safety and love to a place where there's no guarantee for love. Yeah. I wasn't special.
2.5 Burning Ones In each of your responses we have identified a perceived external motivator. Whether that was in the form of a family member or an authority figure, an environment. But who are these things? Who are these authority figures? These family members and these environments? Are they not yourself?
Questioner (All) Yes, they are.
2.6 Burning Ones And so we have a situation where the self has told the self not to accept the self. A portion of the self, projected externally, instructed the self to close the eyes to the self and that which was undesired. So, in this regard, who is hiding from who?
Questioner B The self is hiding from the self?
Burning Ones We are attempting to walk you through this step by step in a manner which is most conducive to your own learning and integration into the self.
We will ask for your contemplation. Focusing on the external self, whether that be the parent, the teacher, or the environment. We iterate that we shall call it the “Authority Self” for clarity.
The Authority Self instructed the, we shall call “Conscious Self” to remove the “Undesired Self”. These are our terms that we are using for clarity. For your contemplation we would present: What was the fear of the Authority Self? What did the Authority Self fear about the Undesired Self?
During this portion of the communication, the instrument is receiving the following words as images in her mind; "needed" and the phrase "this is necessary".
Questioner B Perhaps the Authority Self feared that the Undesired Self would become the one in authority and smother all other parts of the self.
2.7 Burning Ones You are perceiving a dynamic which is key. We would introduce the concept of the False Shadow Self. Between the Authority Shadow Self, and the Undesired Shadow Self; herein lies the concept of a False Shadow Self.
The instrument receives images which represent the "false shadow self". A wall that when pushed turns out to be a secret door to a long dark passage. A drawer that appears empty but when the bottom is lifted it is shown that contents are hidden underneath.
It is clever, clever game that we play in separation. We ask for your contemplation: Which do you surmise is the False Shadow Self between the two? The Authority Shadow Self, and the Undesired Shadow Self?
Questioner C I think for myself, the False Shadow Self is the Authority Shadow Self. And I say that because I guess what comes to mind is that no one really has authority over me.
Burning Ones Yes. we see your line of thought and it is not incorrect, and you are close.
Questioner A I feel like both are one half of the entire shadow self. Maybe the Authority roots you in the past and the other roots you in the future. So, both of these keep you from presence and they combine together to be your False Shadow Self.
Burning Ones An interesting concept. There is a portion here which we wish to emphasize. The half-and-half... it is... We shall move on. We wish to open the space for others to respond.
The instrument received the sensory emphasis on the "half and half" concept but it was halted, as if the entity made the decision to not pursue it at this time. It seemed to pause to "read" the group" and sensed the group/audience was not quite ready or the time was not right.
Questioner B Given the constructs that you offered the Authority Self and the Undesired Self, what is that relationship? I'm having a hard time owning an authority self and projecting that on others and not owning that.
Burning Ones Yes, this is key. This is important.
The instrument received the mental image of a being looking up at an authority figure portrayed as a politician/government figure and feeling anger, righteousness.
Questioner D I am just speaking up to agree. I know that I want someone in authority over me. Pushes, scolds me or hurt, hurts me. I become that authority. I adopt, I become the Authority Self. And then when I see someone doing the same thing I was doing, I take on that persona of the scolding, the stern schoolmaster kind of over myself and I actually punish myself and I'm unpleasant to others around me. So, I'm just speaking up in agreement.
2.8 Burning Ones We appreciate all of your responses and in each, there are very important points of significance. We wish to present to you a concept.
First, a question for your contemplation. We will allow a brief period for contemplation, but will not seek to elucidate verbal responses for your contemplation.
How does the shadow self grow stronger? It lives in the dark. Does it not grow stronger by moving further into the dark, by shedding more and more of the light? A very deep, dark shadow self has moved in, in and away from the light, shedding its lighter bits.
And how may it accomplish this task? We present this for your contemplation and we will move on.
How does a shadow self grow stronger?
We would propose in the metaphor and the concept that we have presented and created for you the (Conscious) Perceived Self, the Authority Self and the Undesired Self. In this allegory, the Authority Self represents the True Shadow Self that seeks to grow stronger.
It does so by casting off residual light. And how does it evade detection?
By using its own undesired traits, those of the light, to create a False Shadow Self to point to blame so that the (Conscious) Perceived Self may focus on that: the Undesired False Shadow Self. And the Authority True Shadow Self grows stronger, darker.
It is able to cast off its light without detection and it is obeyed. To meet the True Shadow Self, to bring light to the True Shadow Self, one must reintegrate the False Shadow Self, the scapegoat. That which your Authority Shadow Self determined was undesirable, unwanted, bad, shameful, not safe, what it needed to discard. And we find that in this act we identify further with the Undesired Shadow Self and externalize further the Authority Shadow Self. It (the Authority Shadow Self) desiring separateness. With our heads turned in mourning of the pain which the Undesired Shadow Self brings us, the Authoritative Shadow Self may run wild.
This is where we shall end our session today. We have brought to your mind a concept that we understand is difficult.
We would open time for questions regarding this and we would ask that at our next session. We restate, we would ask that in the time between now and our next session that these concepts be contemplated.
We may now receive any questions that you may have.
2.9 Questioner B This is indeed a clever game you're describing, so I will contemplate in the coming days. I wanted to ask if there's such a thing as the “true self”, the true self being the self that doesn't seek authority. The true self that doesn't bury itself, but the true self that is the Creator. Isn't that what all of these, isn't this what we're trying to avoid? We’re trying to avoid being the Creator. Isn't that... Aren't these all obstacles to being the Creator and accepting ourselves? All parts of ourselves?
Burning Ones Indeed, indeed. It is the cleverest game that is played. It is the most clever, clever game and it is in the reunification that one may find that which you have described, the true self.
Questioner B Thank you. Thank you very much.
2.10 Questioner C I appreciate this time for contemplation because I feel like I need to break it down into some personal examples for myself where my Authoritative Self and my Undesired Self have come into play. So yes, I feel like I need to take some time in contemplation to put some concrete examples I think in my brain in order to fully understand this concept, so I appreciate the time. I appreciate the time to contemplate this and any suggestions that you would have that may help us in this. Or maybe I'm the only one who needs that, but any suggestions you have would be appreciated.
Burning Ones Yes. We would advise that in contemplation of the Authoritative Shadow Self, you focus on that which you feel is farthest away from yourself, most separate from yourself. That could be a figure, a being, an environment or situation. That which is perceived to be most external, most separate.
The instrument receives images of authority figures or figures in power in the collective of humanity. Bankers, world leaders, corporations etc. That which is perceived to be most distant from ourselves but influences our everyday lives.
Questioner C Thank you. That that is helpful to have that as a contemplative focus.
Burning Ones We would also advise that time be taken in solitude. Solitude and careful contemplation. That is what we would advise you in this endeavor.
Are there any further questions?
Questioner C Not from me. Thank you.
2.11 Questioner B When we do this sort of work on the shadow self, whether in dialogue or in solitude, do we increase the risk of negative entities attacking us, wanting to prevent us from making any progress? Do we need to protect ourselves from psychic attacks? And if this is true, how can we protect ourselves?
Burning Ones Of course, of course. Yes. The elusive True Shadow Self does not wish to be discovered. It has played a clever game. It has been successful. It has enjoyed the fruits of its labor. It does not wish to be discovered.
It has worked hard. It has built upon and built upon it. It does not wish to see such achievement crumbled. It will fight to defend that which it has created. The greatest protection is to see that it is all you. That it is an internal resistance. There is a dual resistance, a dual barrier. There is the barrier as we have described that which does not wish to lose its prize and there is the barrier of the self that does not wish to see its darkest, darkest portions. The greatest protection is to see that it is all you. It is all yourself and to move forth with love for the experience.
Questioner B Okay, thank you.
2.12 Questioner C Another question. Have humans ever, humans on earth, have they ever known the true self?
Burning Ones Some have. Few. Few have found it.
2.13 Questioner C Are there any people walking the earth today who know the true self?
Burning Ones Yes.
Questioner C Thank you.
Burning Ones Are there any further questions?
Questioner C Not from us. Thanks.
2.14 Questioner A Yeah. How can we "create a door" to be more open to this work? To lessen our trepidation about seeing the real shadow?
Burning Ones We would advise that visualization is a most powerful tool in this endeavor. You may visualize a door, a real door that you may walk through. It is powerful, the visualization. It takes you where you feel you cannot go. It will take you there.
Questioner A Well, thank you. [name], do you have a question?
2.15 Questioner D No. Just feeling a little frustrated that because I can't hear you well. I feel like I've flunked the class today. So, how's that for a shadow?
Burning Ones Yes, the Authoritative Shadow Self rears its ugly head. All, all is within you. It is a statement which is said many times, but to know is a different experience.
We would ask at this time if there are any further questions.
2.16 Questioner A Okay. Our final question is, how does one know if in shadow work they have gone beyond the superficial level? Is there a signpost that lets one know they have started the deep shadow work?
Burning Ones Yes. We would describe the superficial as the False or Undesired Shadow Self. We would describe the deep as the True or Authoritative Shadow Self.
The more resistance is felt, the deeper you have gone. The deeper you are going, the more it (the True/Authoritative Shadow Self) fights and claws and tries to get away. The more it tells you that "You are done, you are complete. Nothing more to see here. Nothing more to do. You are an enlightened being. Be off on your way." That is when you know you are penetrating deeper.
Beware the false sense of completeness, beware the sense of (spiritual) superiority above others. These are tricks of the True Shadow Self to avoid the further digging. The more you are sure that you are done, the more you can be sure there is much left to do.
And that is where we will leave it for today. We have greatly enjoyed this session with you. We have greatly enjoyed this energy exchange, for we have learned a great deal. We leave you in contemplation of the various concepts which we have brought to your attention. Those which you have always known but have now risen to your conscious mind. We look forward to speaking with you again. We also look forward to working with you individually. In the meantime, we are with you when you approach this work, when you feel the inclination to do so. We are called and we come.
